You don't have to go to Taitung to see the beautiful rice fields. In the Sanqi Village of Dongshan, Yilan, there is a Golden Rice Spike Boulevard.

The Inarahan Nature Trail is wide and flat along the way, featuring nine S-shaped turns. The best time to visit is from May to the end of June, when the rice paddies turn golden yellow during the harvest season, creating a magnificent and beautiful scene in the sunlight.

In the past, the primary economic source in the Wintersweet Mountain Township was rice production. Along the roadsides, there are art installations that highlight the imagery of the rice village. During May to June, a high platform is set up on the Borlangan Boulevard in Yilan, allowing visitors to have a direct view of the breathtaking views of the golden, winding rice paddies.

During the summer season, a series of carnivals are held on the Three Marvelous Trails. It is highly recommended that friends who come to Yilan for sightseeing choose a day to attend.

On May 20th, 2023, from 2:00 PM to 4:40 PM, multiple groups will perform on the Three Marvelous Trails. The melodious music will be accompanied by the golden rice paddies, creating a long-lasting harmony.

In the summer season, the hot air balloon festival held on the Bora Boulevard in Yilan allows people to enjoy the beauty of the vast Lanyang Plain from high up in the sky. The 2023 festival takes place on 06/03, 06/04, 06/10, and 06/11, with morning sessions from 06:00-08:00 and afternoon sessions from 16:30-18:30. The event is usually very crowded, so it is recommended to arrive early and queue up if you want to ride the balloons.

In addition to hot air balloons, the 2023 Yilan hot air balloon festival also features a collaboration with the famous Bambi Hill in Dongshan's Sanqiqi Village. Visitors can see themed decorations featuring Formosan Sika deer and even observe them in person at the event. This means there is plenty to see and do while waiting for the balloons to take off.

The Kite Festival in 2023 will be held on July 1st and 2nd. There will be various kite designs on display and special kite performances, with a show every hour lasting about 5-10 minutes. Since the Kite Festival only lasts for two days, those who wish to enjoy the spectacle should mark the dates on their calendar as soon as possible.

During the event, there will be traffic control on the road leading to Yilan Balun Boulevard, so it will not be possible to drive directly there. Visitors will need to park their cars or motorcycles nearby and walk or ride a bicycle to get to the event. For those who wish to visit Yilan Balun Boulevard, you can first drive to the Sunlight Garden and ride a bicycle from the villa loherb, which takes only around 10 minutes. Free maps and a guide dog named Little Black are available to prevent getting lost. If cycling is not convenient, visitors can also park their cars at the Fengzun Palace parking lot and walk straight to the viewing platform, which takes just over 5 minutes.

At Brawang Avenue in Yilan, you can see picturesque scenery. Whether you gaze out from the viewing window, stroll through the fields feeling the vitality of the earth, or climb to a high platform to take a hot air balloon and look out over the vast expanse, you can capture the moment with your camera.
